Sean Powers
Sean Powers is a London-based artist whose practice centres on what he calls “ecotone paintings,” works that inhabit the transitional space between the external wilderness and the internal realm of the psyche. Through close observation of nature, his paintings explore how perception, memory, and emotion merge through material processes of texture, colour, and mark-making. Informed by American Transcendentalism and post-humanist thought, Powers treats painting as an analog, imaginative method for investigating otherness, identity, and the enduring mystery of the nonhuman world.
He holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2014) and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2024).
