Anna Phalavandishvili

Anna Phalavandishvili (b. 2000) is a Greek-born artist of Georgian origin whose practice explores staged compositions alongside spontaneous moments drawn from everyday life. Working primarily in large-scale painting, she heightens presence through hyperfocus, creating immersive visual narratives with expanded depth and atmosphere. Her work moves between conscious and unconscious storytelling, using painting as a multilayered space for personal direction and emotional resonance. Influenced by 1970s samurai films, classic Westerns, and filmmakers such as Robert Altman, Werner Herzog, Emir Kusturica, Jonas Mekas, and John Cassavetes, Phalavandishvili’s paintings carry a distinct cinematic sensibility.

She completed an Integrated Master in Fine and Applied Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2019–2025). In 2025, she presented her first solo exhibition at Elias Tsiofas Gallery, Thessaloniki.
