Text

In Lina Papageorgiou’s paintings, the body, nature, and their transformation coexist in an intermediate space, where the boundaries between human, animal, and environment remain fluid.

Human figures appear in constant interaction with organic and hybrid elements, transforming the concept of the body from a stable material presence into a realm of constant change; thus, the body ultimately becomes a vessel of memory and fragility. Through the repetition and layering of organic and structural motifs, identity is presented as a process of memory and reconstruction. Nature does not function as a mere backdrop, but as an actively changing part of human experience.  Between the real and the imaginary, a space is created where humans and the environment shape one another, revealing the fluidity of matter, identity, and life itself.
